The reason for why he is hated so deeply by the left and a target of constant physical attacks.

This may strike as something difficult to imagine, but even politicians at one point of their lives aren’t politicians. Before he became the Congressman from Kentucky, Senator Rand Paul was Dr. Rand Paul (MD). His pre-political civilian days were spent as an ophthalmologist (an eye surgeon.) His medical practice centers on the healing and restoration of the human vision. It may not be too hyperbolic to say that the way Dr. Paul works in restoring vision to his patients is like Senator Paul’s work in restoring vision to his voters of how a principled politician acts.

By the standards we use to judge our politicians, we can safely agree that Senator Rand Paul exist as one of the least corrupted men in politics.

When he was brutally assaulted by his neighbor last year, word got out that he owns the smallest house in his Bowling Green neighborhood. In a measure of wealth, his household net worth totaled less than the left-wing darling’s household of Bernie Sanders. To reiterate, Rand Paul spent his civilian life providing healthcare and does not engage in the abuse of power in politics like a career politician.

This begs the question, why does Senator Paul incite so much passionate hatred from the left, especially by the left’s intellectual elites? While many may secretly (or openly) harbor fantasies of violence against politicians, rarely does the perpetrator’s passion manifest itself in reality. Rarely do they reach a point where they would actually carry out a physical attack against a member of our political class. So why is he a constant target of their physical attacks?

The frightening truth behind that question is this; the more rational, competent and effective the voice on the right, the more vicious the threat of physical destruction and attack from the left. Rand Paul is a regular target for violence from the left precisely because he holds clear and unwavering principles. His disciplined, uncompromising adherence to his principles in turn allows him to consistently convey a clear standard of values to the left (and sometimes the right.)

Now contrast this to the modern left, with their empty values and no ideological foundations, who hold no standards besides their vapidly meaningless appeal to the, “love of all in mankind,” and anything that is, “non-right.” Since the unmistakable failure of communism and Marxism, the left has no ideas, and instead indulge in a nihilistic destruction of all positive values. They have no foundation, but instead follow carefully crafted narratives to conceal that lack of foundation, since they have no true or proper principles or ideas.

Like a con-man on the verge of being exposed, the left’s lack of substance arouses in them a sharp urge to resist and destroy those who can expose their foundation for what it is: a house of cards. The emotional and violent outburst against Rand Paul is the corresponding reaction. Rand Paul’s ideas incite terror in the left as their ideologies are revealed to be fundamentally hollow against the Senator’s clear defense of freedom and individual rights.

To help you picture this in concrete terms, observe the differences in reaction from the left between Trump and Rand Paul. When it comes to displaying their opposition and outrage to both these men the left professedly hate;

Clockwise from left: A protest rally against Donald Trump in England, Rand Paul’s six broken ribs and a buildup of fluid around the lung

Trump gets a blimp made in his image, a pride parade participated by thousands and primetime parody songs-dance features made with full scale production by the mainstream media, done in honor of mocking his presidency. Rand Paul gets a collapse lung from 6 broken ribs and a threat to murder him and his family with an axe.

It comes as no surprise that President Trump is violently hated by many of his adversaries. But why does Senator Rand Paul overwhelmingly receive the bulk of the violent treatment by the left? Again, it is precisely because he is uncompromising. While President Trump upholds pragmatic negotiation and personal relationships as his political standard of the good, Senator Paul’s actions are guided by principled ideas and he refuses to compromise on anything which runs contrary to his beliefs of our nation’s foundational ideas of inalienable rights.

Rewind back a year to September 2017. As House Republicans unanimously wanted to pass the Graham-Cassidy Bill, dressed up as a so-called first step of repealing of Obamacare. Senator Paul stood steadfast in opposing it; alone. He called out the façade and the hypocrisy of his own party because he stood by his principle of small government. While the Graham-Cassidy Bill propose to “stick it” to blue states by reshuffling Obamacare funding into red states; Rand Paul, armed with his belief in small government exercised his integrity by refusing to compromise. This resulted in him enduring the wrath of Trump’s Twitter, chastising Paul, because the spineless and corrupted wing of career politicians advising Trump convinced the President that Senator Paul was an impractical idealist.

Rand-Trump Healthcare Overhaul Twitter showdown

Fortunately for Senator Paul, and the rest of us, his uncompromising stance paid off because as he told Wolf Blitzer in his CNN interview, the Graham-Cassidy Bill, “is not a principled repeal of Obamacare;” and the bill wasn’t passed. President Trump was instead persuaded to pursue total healthcare reform.

Standing his ground and refusing to cave from intimidation and pressure, Senator Paul garnered the President’s respect when Trump during his press conference announcing the reform and complimented Senator Paul. Out of his prepared speech script, Trump said about Paul principled stance, “boy that’s very unusual, I’m very impressed”. Indeed it is. It is very unusual for a politician to have integrity. And it is very impressive when a politician stands by their principles.

Unlike spineless politicians without principles who bend and sway in any direction the winds of power and pull blows them, Rand Paul stands his ground where he knows he is right because his moral conviction grants him the roots he needs to hold on to ground. It would not even be too far-fetched to claim how his unwavering conviction to what he knows is morally right is what helps hold the President down towards the correct path. This too is why the left hates him.

Herein lies an open secret by which most of us who fail to pay attention to leftist ideas aren’t aware of; the left doesn’t hold any real principles. All they have are anti-values. For example, they are anti-tradition, anti-Western, anti-industrial, anti-profit, anti-white male. The list goes on. Simply pick something you can think of which made Western Civilization the best thing to have occurred in human history and slap the word ‘anti’ in front of it and you’ll grow your own garden variety leftist intellectual. Since they define their cause by the standard of a negative, the left is fundamentally incapable of challenging those who hold rationally defined positive values. This is significantly true when these values are also hardened with unwavering moral certainty as presented consistently through Senator Rand Paul.

When a conman’s malicious intent is exposed, his instinctual response is to react with terror. From this we can understand why Senator Rand Paul is often a target for violent attacks. Since Senator Paul correctly identifies the positive value of freedom and individualism, he consistently fights in the defense of these rational, life affirming principles. He is a constant reminder to the left on how fundamentally impotent their own ideas are.

The left’s anti-reality, anti-individualism, anti-liberty nihilism arouses no inspiration for optimism. Rather their deep-seated desire for the anti-rational evokes anger, terror and despair. Why else do you think they have a need for ‘trigger warnings’, ‘safe spaces’, ‘political correctness’? All they have at the root of their ideas is blind emotionalism. The left’s ideas taken to its own logical conclusion leads to both personal and societal chaos, because destruction is what their ideas advocate for in principal.

Twentieth century novelist Ayn Rand stated this phenomenon clearly: “When men abandon reason, physical force becomes their only means of dealing with one another and of settling disagreements.” Proponents of the left who are unable to stomach the impotence of their unreason leading to their nihilism therefore lash out at a principled politician like Rand Paul because he symbolizes everything that is wrong with their own narratives. Force is the only way they know how to silence the threat of Rand Paul’s ideas because quoting Ayn Rand again; “Ideas end where a gun begins”.
